The first album.

Recorded in Gabe's basement during January 2002, PATHS sees Lowfive settling into their own style on tracks like Boys Will Be Boys and Jesus Sunrise. Truly a project album complete with layered acoustic guitars and piano, PATHS has no evidence of the "No Conform"-era ska influence, and showcases the emergence of melodic indie-rock similar to Pop Unknown/The Foo Fighters/The Impossibles/Piebald.

Despite admittedly lo-fi recording, this album holds a special place in the hearts of the original Eric Records folks; this was the first album we truly constructed from scratch, produced, mixed and finalized. The process was an education, especially given our limited experience and equipment. While much of the result is really rough around the edges (and even in some of the middles!), tracks like "It Always Snows..." and "Still Photography" -- both in-studio creations -- still sound great to me today, and never fail to invoke an emotional sentimentality upon listening. This was the face that launched 6 ships and counting....
